Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the permanent signing of Derby County defender Ryan Bartley.<\/h1>\n

The 21-year-old joins on a contract until the end of the 2024\/25 season, having spent time on loan in the Vanarama National League North earlier this season with Spennymoor Town and Hereford.<\/p>\n

Bartley made 23 league appearances across his two temporary spells in the sixth tier, most recently playing 16 games for promotion-chasing Hereford, scoring one goal in the process as well as being named The Bulls’ Player of the Month in October 2024.<\/p>\n

“Ryan showed real commitment and willingness to be a part of the club,” <\/em>said manager, Carl Magnay.<\/p>\n

“It’s a permanent, which is great, and he’s a very ambitious kid, but the biggest nod that he got was from Radders [Ben Radcliffe].<\/em><\/p>\n

We picked Radders’ brain having been at Derby with him – and he can be quite harsh with his critique on players – but he was really positive about Ryan, and what we’ve found out about him as a person has been reflected since meeting him.”<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
