Greg Olley<\/p>\n

Gateshead FC regrets to confirm the departure of club captain Greg Olley, after a contract extension was unable to be agreed between both parties. Olley departs having played an integral role at the club since his arrival in July 2018, going on to make 220 appearances and score 41 goals across his almost seven-year spell in black and white.<\/p>\n

Olley made history on multiple occasions as a Gateshead player, winning the club’s first league title since 1986 by lifting the 2021\/22 Vanarama National League North title, before captaining The Heed twice at Wembley Stadium in consecutive Isuzu FA Trophy finals in 2023 and 2024, with the 2024 FA Trophy final victory seeing him become the first player in Gateshead history to win the competition.<\/p>\n

“Albeit late, an extension to his contract has not been able to be agreed. He will be a big miss at the club, and we thank him for his service and wish him all the best for the future.”<\/em><\/p>\n
