{"id":30676,"date":"2025-08-08T19:00:55","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T18:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gateshead-fc.com\/?p=30676"},"modified":"2025-08-08T17:34:51","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T16:34:51","slug":"ethan-fitzhugh-joins-gateshead-fc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gateshead-fc.com\/ethan-fitzhugh-joins-gateshead-fc\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethan Fitzhugh joins Gateshead FC"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Ethan Fitzhugh on a one-year deal with an option.<\/h1>\n<p>The winger arrives on Tyneside initially for the 2025\/26 season after appearing three times as a trialist during pre-season, turning out in wins over Dunston UTS, Spennymoor Town and Darlington in The Heed&#8217;s final three friendlies.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old is set to make his Enterprise National League bow after spending the 2024\/25 season with National League North side Buxton, where he made 32 league appearances last term, following on from a 13-year stint with Leicester City in his youth.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I want to bring excitement to the fans when I&#8217;m playing and get them off their seats,&#8221; <\/em>said Fitzhugh.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s been amazing speaking to [Alun Armstrong &amp; Jacob Butterfield] &#8211; they just want me to be creative and be my normal self.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I just want to show everyone that I know I can play at a higher level, and prove that to everyone else as well.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been buzzing all week, it&#8217;s all the boys have been talking about, just getting to the first game and getting ready for it &#8211;
