This decision has not been taken lightly, and we extend our sincere thanks to all players, staff, and supporters who have been part of the team\u2019s journey so far.<\/p>\n
Despite this, our commitment to women\u2019s football in the region remains strong. We will continue to support the development of the female football pathway through our existing Gateshead FC Under 16 Girls team, and the recent launch of our Gateshead FC U21 Women\u2019s team in partnership with Gateshead College.<\/p>\n
This collaboration will see our Gateshead FC U21 Women\u2019s team compete in the National Football Youth League (NFYL) North East Championship under the leadership of Codie Nichols.<\/p>\n
We view this as a vital step in strengthening the long-term future of women\u2019s football at Gateshead FC, and we remain fully committed to re-introducing a senior women\u2019s team for the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n
We\u2019d like to thank Gateshead Leam Rangers who have been very understanding and considerate given the situation, and wish them all the best for the season and their Adobe Women\u2019s FA Cup run going forward.<\/p>\n
