The Heed head to The Brewery Field this coming Saturday to face North East rivals Spennymoor and confidence is high following their stunning 3-2 win over Altrincham in the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening.<\/span><\/h1>\n

Gateshead were forced to travel to Greater Manchester after being held to a 2-2 draw at home earlier in the month. After leading 2-0 heading into the final seven minutes of the match, Altrincham\u2019s Marcus Dinanga pulled one back for the visitors before Jake Moult struck late into injury time to level the score. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, it was to be Gateshead\u2019s night in the replay at Moss Lane on Tuesday as Macaulay Langstaff was on target twice in the game, scoring his second in the 91st minute to win the match 3-2 and send The Heed through to the second round of the competition where they\u2019ll host League One side Charlton Athletic at Gateshead International Stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fans are not only delighted to see Gateshead progress to the next round but also that their clash with Charlton Athletic will be televised live on ITV4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The second round tie with Charlton is set to take place on Friday 3rd December with kick-off at 7.45pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gateshead are in action twice before featuring in the FA Cup again. They\u2019re away to Vanarama National League North leaders, AFC Fylde, a week prior in the Buildbase FA Trophy but next up is a league match against North East side Spennymoor this coming Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both sides are currently tied on 20 points in the league but with Gateshead having several games in hand over the majority of the teams, this is a great chance to put some points on the board and move up the table. <\/span><\/p>\n

Victory on Saturday could see The Heed climb to fourth in the table and bring them potentially within seven points of AFC Fylde with four games in hand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gateshead will be full of confidence after their recent cup victory and the fact that they\u2019ve tasted defeat just once in their last eleven in all competitions. <\/span><\/p>\n

The hosts on the other hand head into this clash in terrible form. After a positive start to the season, Tommy Miller\u2019s side suffered four consecutive defeats and didn\u2019t manage to find the net in any of them. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Moors did manage to pick up a point in their most recent outing away to Bradford PA last Saturday but two points from a possible 18 over their last six league matches is a cause for concern.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite Spennymoor\u2019s poor run of form of late, they head into the match priced the same as the visitors with the odds on both sides being 6\/4 for the win with bookmaker <\/span>Betfair Sportsbook<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
