Mike Williamson\u2019s men head into a vital league fixture on Saturday, facing league leaders Brackley Town.<\/p>\n

The last time The Heed were in action at The International Stadium, Cedwyn Scott and Luke Williams fired Gateshead past York City.<\/p>\n
Wombwell came off the bench after just 18 minutes following Robbie Tinkler\u2019s injury, and helped set up the second goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a good game, we knew it would be difficult,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery game in this league is difficult, but we did what we needed to do.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a different game to what we\u2019re used to – we probably didn\u2019t play as much as we would\u2019ve liked.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the end, we showed our qualities and came out with the three points, which is all that matters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe coaching staff have mentioned everybody will be used this year – it\u2019s about taking your chance when you get it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got my chance against York and I wanted to add something to the team, so I\u2019m pleased to have contributed to the goal.\u201d<\/p>\n
The display gave The Heed momentum going into an away trip to Farsley Celtic, with Paul Blackett breaking the deadlock.<\/p>\n
The hosts fought back to take a 3-1 lead, but a spirited second half display saw Williamson\u2019s men return to Tyneside with a 4-3 victory and three points in tow.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a tough place to go,\u201d Wombwell added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe pitch isn\u2019t the best, and in the circumstances we found ourselves losing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe showed our fighting qualities and dug in until the end, and were pleased to get the win.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fans gave us that little bit extra on Saturday and it was great to see them travel with us away.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a great feeling, especially when we scored and got it over the line at the end.\u201d<\/p>\n
Currently third in the table, Gateshead sit five points below Saturday\u2019s visitors with two games in hand.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of games in the Christmas period and we want to pick up as many points as we can, starting against Brackley.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we can do so, that\u2019ll put us in a very good position going into the derby games.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s lots of points up for grabs, but things can change so quick if we take our foot off the pedal.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrackley will be the toughest game so far, so we need to be focused on the job at hand.<\/p>\n
