Mike Williamson is not placing much relevance on his side\u2019s extended break ahead of Tuesday\u2019s trip to Darlington.<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Heed were out of action on Boxing Day following the postponement of the Blyth Spartans fixture, while Darlington travelled to Spennymoor Town and earned a 1-1 draw in a fiery encounter at The Brewery Field.<\/p>\n

The player-manager feels the difference in rest periods for the two sides will have little relevance on Tuesday\u2019s clash, saying: \u201cA lot of variables go into it, but it\u2019s irrelevant really.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a tough game. I watched Darlington against Spennymoor and they were well organised and were probably frustrated not to win the game.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe go into Tuesday focusing on ourselves but I don\u2019t think the postponement works for or against us in that regard.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe were disappointed for our game to be called off, but ultimately we move on to the next game, which is the most important.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe went in [on Boxing Day] and trained so preparations straight away turned, we prepped for the whole Christmas period beforehand so we\u2019re maintaining that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Darlington\u2019s recent run of form at Blackwell Meadows sees them unbeaten in their last six outings on home soil, while The Heed chase top spot sitting two points behind league leaders Brackley Town.<\/p>\n

Williamson feels both sides will back themselves going into tomorrow\u2019s clash, adding: \u201cThey\u2019ll fancy themselves I\u2019m sure, and likewise.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got a lively front four, two sitting midfielders that are very combative and have good energy, they sustain attacks very well and were organised against Spennymoor.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThey had George [Smith] and Griffy [Kallum Griffiths] playing and two big centre halves with them.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThat is going to test us tomorrow, but as I always say, the focus is on us.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be a derby environment and an atmosphere I\u2019m sure, so that will be good.<\/em><\/p>\n
