Storey arrived on a one-year deal from Hebburn Town in June 2021 and combines playing duties with his roles as assistant manager and junior academy director.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Storey made the joint-highest appearances in Gateshead\u2019s title-winning 2021\/22 campaign, playing 50 times as his first season on Tyneside was capped with silverware.<\/p>\n

The defender played a key role in securing National League safety the following season, making 37 appearances in all competitions as The Heed also reached the FA Trophy final for the first time, with Storey making his second appearance at Wembley Stadium in the process.<\/p>\n

Storey was named as interim assistant manager to Rob Elliot in October 2023, following the departures of Mike Williamson, Ian Watson and Chris Bell, and played 42 games across a campaign which saw Gateshead finish sixth in the National League as well as winning the 2024 Isuzu FA Trophy, with Storey scoring in the penalty shoot-out at Wembley.<\/p>\n
